Where We’re Dreaming of in 2026

One of the best parts of what we do is that we’re always planning the next trip in our heads. Sometimes it’s a place we know well and love deeply. Other times it’s a destination that nudges us out of our comfort zone and reminds us why Africa never stops surprising us.

As we look ahead at 2026, a few themes keep popping up for us: returning to places that never disappoint, leaning into a little adventure, and choosing destinations that feel exciting, spacious, and deeply memorable.

Here’s where our minds (and daydreams) are headed.

South Africa: always a good idea

Some destinations just get it right and South Africa is one of them.

It’s endlessly flexible and somehow manages to feel fresh no matter how often we visit. World-class safaris, coastal escapes, vibrant cities, and exceptional food all stitched together with ease. It’s the kind of place that reminds us why it’s a favourite for both first-timers and long-time Africa lovers.

Classic? Yes. Boring? Never.

Uganda & Rwanda: adventure with heart

Uganda is a country that offers so much to the more adventurous traveler and with each visit it surprises us in the best way.

The reopening of classic properties in the region has us especially excited for 2026, bringing renewed energy to one of Africa’s most powerful wildlife experiences. But gorillas are just the beginning. Uganda offers rainforests, rare primates, rich birdlife, and that feeling of real adventure.

Pair that with Rwanda’s Akagera National Park, and things get even more interesting. Akagera offers a quieter, more open safari experience across lakes and savannah, perfect for travellers wanting Rwanda from a different angle.

Together, they create a journey that’s varied, immersive, and seriously special.

Namibia: big skies, quiet moments

Namibia is for those seeking space.

Vast desert landscapes, dramatic coastlines, and wildlife shaped by some of the planet’s toughest conditions, it’s a destination that slows you down without even trying. There’s something incredibly grounding about Namibia, and for 2026, that sense of scale and stillness feels more appealing than ever.

Zimbabwe: classic safari, done properly

Zimbabwe brings us straight back to the heart of safari.

Exceptional guiding, walking safaris, and wildlife encounters that feel raw and thrilling with water-based activities adding a whole new layer to the experience. From time on the river to moments spent watching wildlife from the water’s edge, it’s a destination that rewards patience and curiosity, and delivers some of the most meaningful moments you’ll find in Africa.

Kenya: culture, conservation, and connection

Kenya remains one of East Africa’s most rewarding safari destinations when planned with care.

Staying in private conservancies offers an East African safari experience with fewer vehicles, more space, and wildlife encounters that feel calm and unhurried. Hands-on cultural experiences add real depth to the journey, while these conservancies play an important role in supporting local communities and long-term conservation. Not to mention, they are home to some truly exceptional camps and private villas.

Looking ahead

What ties all of these destinations together is a shared sense of excitement. These are places that still give us butterflies, still surprise us, and still remind us how lucky we are to explore this continent as often as we do. If 2026 is the year you’re dreaming of returning to Africa (or discovering a new corner of it) these are the trips we can’t stop thinking about and would love to plan for you – reach out if you’re ready to take the leap.

Be inspired!
